Classroom Technology: The first district-wide infusion of Proposition S funds went to classroom technology, thereby transforming the teaching and learning environment at all district schools with 21st century technology. The Prop. S-funded i21 Interactive Classroom Initiative delivered a suite of new digital tools that were designed to create an engaging and personalized learning environment. The main components included an interactive whiteboard, audio/visual cabinet, a teacher’s presentation station, a wireless voice amplification system, an advanced model document camera and a DVD player. The interactive classroom suites were installed according to a five-year plan that started in summer 2009. Prop. Z funds will be used to sustain the classroom technology.
